Wendy's is selling 425 of the eateries it owns to franchisees, but the targeted markets aren't scattered - they comprise a fairly straight cut down the Mississippi River - as the company puts up for sale its holdings in 13 cities, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Portland, Ore., and St. Louis.
